Our Story
Dave MacMillan worked for a small security company. After a few years of working for them they were sold to a large, national security company. Dave thought that as the company changed ownership it would lose the quality of customer service that their clients had come to expect. It was at this point that he made the decision to start his own security company with a focus on customer service. Dave’s friends and family knew just how serious he was about making this business work the day he sold his beloved Ford Bronco and bought a minivan which would allow him to store all of the necessary tools and equipment required. Starting with just one customer, Dave single-handedly responded to each and every security call. Sometimes he was there even before the police! It was this commitment to customer service that helped the company grow.
As a result of the growth, Protector Security Systems and Locksmith Corporation was founded in 1990. Dave soon became known as “Protector Dave” and he began to hand pick a team to help with his expanding business.
After decades of success and with retirement on the horizon, Protector Security Systems was acquired by Rowan McLean of Station Earth, another thriving Fergus success story. This was a natural transition as Protector Security Systems and Station Earth had a history of collaboration and shared clients.
Today we are proud to be providing Ontario with security solutions, synonymous with trust and reliability. Our customized solutions for commercial and residential properties offer peace of mind and are easy to use. Our mobile technicians are on call 24/7.
